We buy and sell old instruments and bows, and carry out expert appraisals and insurance valuations. As restorers we endeavour to be as unintrusive as possible, respectful of the intent of the maker, and we take an active interest in the development of restoration techniques which support these aims. Our wider interest in the visual arts keeps us aware of the subtle variety of materials, shapes, textures and colours found in fine musical instruments. Constant contact with musicians ensures that we endeavour to bring out the individual tonal qualities of each instrument to their fullest. We make new instruments and bows. We sell cases, strings and accessories. We promote two musical instrument insurance companies : Allianz and Lark . |
